One of the two 2GB memories was defective. I installed the good one with a 1GB from Dell and ran at 3GB RAM while I returned the defective memory. ProMemory Upgrade expedited the replacement and I installed it today, no problems and I'm running perfectly with 4GB RAM. Customer service was excellent. |

1) I received my package much later than the expected shipment time frame.
2) When I installed it, it was not working so I asked customer support. I received rude and unsatisfactory answer e-mails.
3) the product was seemed to be the correct one for my Mac notebook, but was not compatible.

I opened up my laptop, put it in, and it worked. Zero complaints. I have 4GB of memory now.
Note that the full amount of memory may not show up in your operating system -- it depends on the machine and operating system. I use ubuntu linux 9.10, and only 1.2 GB of the 2GB showed up. The answer was to switch to the "physical address extensions" kernel. Directions are here:

The additional 2GB of RAM made a huge difference in the performance of my HP laptop, which only had 1GB prior to adding the stick. Virtual memory (on the hard drive) was constantly being accessed, slowing the computer down horribly and excessively wearing the hard drive, until this was added. It's the first thing anyone should check when trying to speed up a sluggish pc. The improvement was dramatic and instantaneous - it was like getting a new computer. 1 GB is just not enough RAM these days. |

Problem with the Purchase |

I received 2x2GB modules and attempted to install to my Dell Studio Hybrid Destop. The first experience I received is that the system shut down from time to time (appr. in every 20 minutes in interval). Then, I shut down the system and installed the module one of the time. Automatical shut downs occurred again. After some research, I started the memory test at bios with one of a time. Short beeping was heard, suggesting the RAM is not good.
I , then, contacted the PRO Memory Upgrade for solutions. A couple days later, I received a reply to give the description of occurrence. When I tried to responded via MSN hotmail, the mail was returned as undeliverable. I took the Pro Memory to the Fry's and let them to test them. The tournout is "bad RAM". Finally, I have to purchase 2 new RAM's from the Fry's and they work perfectly.
I still have the 2 PRO at home and I doubt whether PRO Memory Upgrade would like to take it. |
