Do it yourself Apple Mac Pro FB-DIMM memory installation or replacement instruction guide:
Opening your Mac Pro:
- Turn the Mac Pro off.
- Let it cool for about 10 minutes, prior to the installation of the new Mac Pro FB-DIMM memory modules
- Unplug all external cables except the power cord
- Touch metal, that will discard any static electricity from your body

- Hold and slide the access panel door on the back of your Mac Pro
- Lift the latches and remove the access panel and place it on a flat surface that will not scratch it

- The Mac Pro FB-DIMM are easy to identify, they have the metal clips on them.
- Holding the memory riser card by the two finger holes, pull it out of the memory cage and place the card DIMM side-up and put in a flat soft area
- Open the ejectors on the FB-DIMM slot by pushing them out to the sides and then remove the FB-DIMM memory module from the riser card



- Installing the larger capacity or replacement FB-DIMM memory modules:
- Be sure to align the FB-DIMM in the slot on the memory riser card and push both ends of the Fully Buffered RAM down until the ejectors snap back up into place
- Insert the riser card back into the Mac Pro

Replace the access panel, and your installation is complete
